The National Aeronautics and Space Administration maintains one of the most sophisticated communications systems in the world. Keeping the system functioning and in good repair is critical to N.A.S.A.'s mission, and necessary to the safety of our nation's astronauts and the space program as a whole.
When N.A.S.A. needed to protect satellite communication dishes from corrosion at the Kennedy Space Center and the agency's location on the island of Antigua, MTMM’s principle, IMC was called in to do the job. IMC's metalizing process saved N.A.S.A. $313,000 per antenna, equaling approximately the cost of four paint treatments to one metalizing treatment.
So pleased were N.A.S.A. officials that they mounted a metalizing information program at various Air Force bases to encourage other facilities managers to use metalizing as a first defense in corrosion control.
